8/6/10

Henry's little summer football season is over. His team lost both games without even scoring a point! I felt so sorry for all of those little guys! They really worked hard. Their games were at the Springdale High Stadium and they had real announcers in the box. It was so cute. Henry did make two tackles and they called his name over the loud speaker! They all got trophies for their efforts. Aida enjoyed the games too. She was a stinker in the stands!

Lining up before the game. Henry was on the white team #55.

Henry with his trophy. His second game was at 8 in Springdale. We got home at 10. He looks wiped out here because he was soooooo tired. He is proud of his trophy.

The stinker. She rarely runs out of energy!

Our Brady Bunch House

Ok! Here is our new (older) home! These pictures aren't in any order because I lose patience with Blogger quite a lot. The front reminds me of the Brady Bunch house! We have a huge driveway which will be perfect for a basketball goal in the future! My dad has already done a lot of painting and put up new base molding in the kids' rooms. We also got new carpet in the upstairs. We still have a LOT we want to do, but for now this is what it looks like! The exterior is great. Nate said he may want to paint the front door a color eventually. Most of my pictures aren't good! I am not a photographer and am terrible with light, etc.
This is Henry's room. He picked the two separate gray colors for the wall. He has two nice windows. One overlooks the pool. He also has his own little bathroom with shower which is nice. We think this room may have been the original master suite.
This is Aida's room. You can't see it, but she has a nice window overlooking the driveway area. My dad painted her walls this nice pink color. She had me pick out the color. She got bored at Home Depot looking for paint!

This is the dining room, which we are going to use as a piano/sitting room. Obviously, we need more furnishings in here, but with time! I painted the gold sconces this off white color and I am going to get some seagrass shades for them. The chandelier will go eventually too and we will get something not so gaudy! This room also has a nice window! I love the parquet flooring, too! My dad painted this room as well. Our master suite is also this color....Yes, thanks to Daddy!

This is our breakfast room which is attached to the kitchen. It goes out to the deck and pool. My dad painted these walls too...I am going to be decorating forever, but I love to do it! I ordered a custom made valance. We don't need curtains or blinds because no one is on this side of us!

This is our front yard or at least part of it. We love the big tree...which may hold a tire swing at some point!
This mantel was TERRIBLE! My Dad flew back like 10 feet when he took it off because it was so huge! Luckily the couch broke his fall! He flew over it! See the after pic below....
Much better without the gothic mantel! We are still going to paint this room and get new cabinet doors/pulls. We have our sectional split up between the game room (no pic) and living room. Eventually it will all be in the game room. The game room is large and has a wet bar, loft, sauna and separate bathroom. It is a really neat space with a wood burning stove. It is lined with windows overlooking the pool! The kids already like to watch tv out there and play in the loft...which is high and a little scary, but a neat place for kids.

The pool...which is rarely empty! It has been a lifesaver with the 100 degree temps.

The back yard green space.

This is a spot made for a trampoline, which we will get some time.

This is a homemade firepit which will be great in winter!

This is the hot tub, which everyone has been in but me! I can't be in a hot tub when it is so hot outside!
We are excited to grow in this home as a family, and hope that our kids' friends will want to hang out at our house when they are older. We lucked out and are very fortunate! We can't wait to have company!!

Aida's Mini Birthday Party

Aida had a little family birthday party - My mom who turned 60 the same day was there to celebrate too. Aida's bigger (still little) party is on Saturday(which happens to be my 34th birthday!) She is having a swim party at our house! With moving, we had to push her party back a little bit. I can't believe she is 6 years old and going to be in first grade! She is always doing something funny to make us laugh! Note: These shiny walls are now the light aqua blue too...and they aren't shiny!! This was the day we had just gotten our furniture, so a lot has been moved/changed since then.

Aida finally got her own pink DS. She doesn't have to borrow Henry's anymore.

You can't tell, but she is holding a charm bracelet that she can add charms to. She has a microphone, a letter A, an I Phone charm and a heart that says Happy Birthday. My sister got the latter of the two.

Blowing out her candles!

Littlest Pet Shop DS Game from Nana.

Henry's Football

Henry is playing in a short summer football program. His first game is August 4th. They only have about 3 games. Here he is in his little uniform...Notice the diamonds on the left in our kitchen? They have been primed and painted and nice light aqua blue! Say "No" to wallpaper!! My Dad did the painting!

SV Going Away Ice Cream Party

Our wonderful neighbor Lisa planned an ice cream going away party for Henry and Aida. Nate and I already had an "adult" going away party at Table Mesa Grill (a yummy eclectic Mexican restaurant on the square in Bentonville). The kids had ice cream and had a fun time together. This is the biggest water balloon I have ever seen!

Everyone lined up on the sidewalk!

July 4th

We had our big 4th of July block party this year in Shadow Valley. Next year we may have to go back since it is such a fun party!
